Dare to be you... dare to not fit in!

Description

A young boy who tends to sheep once saw a tiny lion cub weak and lying down at the edge of the forest. He took pity on it and took it along with him and raised it along with his other sheep. He ran and played with them and even had a best friend from the herd.

One day, while they were all grazing, a fierce lion started chasing them, all the sheep ran for shelter and so did the cub. The big lion was astonished to see a lion cub run for shelter. Out of curiosity, he stopped chasing the sheep and focused on the cub. Soon, he cornered the cub and asked him: "Who are you?" The cub who was panting and trembling, replied in a frail voice: “I am a baby sheep”

Very often, while being raised in a society which lauds conformity and affiliation, we tend to forget our real identity. We work diligently on impressing people and aspire to belong to a certain group. This is certainly exhausting and will never bring out the best in us.

All of us are created as a unique individual and have a unique trajectory that has been designed just for us. We are part of a bigger picture and the blueprint that we may not comprehend now, but we have a major role to play. It is ‘our role’. It can never be the way someone else lives.

Instead of striving to conform or belong to a certain group, I encourage you to take a quiet moment [MS1] for ourselves everyday morning and evening and go deep within us. Try to understand your uniqueness and learn to celebrate it. You do not have to continue to live someone else’s identity. You can live true to your own self, in your own identity. Do not forget: You are a masterpiece, created in the image of God!

Dare to be you!
